FAQ

How can I connect with a Valplast dentist?

Any dentist can work with Valplast, even if they have never used it before. Speak to your current dentist first to see if they offer Valplast at their practice. If you currently do not have a dentist and need to locate a new one, our friends at 1-800-DENTIST may be able to help you. Through our collaboration with 1-800-DENTIST, the #1 dentist referral network in the world, we are now pleased to be able to offer a Valplast® Dentist referral service. Please call 1-800-DENTIST or visit www.1800dentist.com for more details on how to locate a Valplast dentist in your area. If there are no Valplast® dentists available in your area, we would be pleased to assist your current dentist or any dentist new to Valplast on how to work with Valplast® partials. Please have your dentist contact us for information on Valplast® Techniques and to connect with a Certified Valplast® Laboratory.

Will Valplast break under stress? Dental appliances made with Valplast® resin have a limited lifetime warranty against breakage of the denture base under normal wear and tear. This warranty covers the Valplast® resin (pink, nylon material) that is used to make the denture, but not the teeth that are embedded in it. If you feel that your partial may be broken, please contact your dentist first to see how they can assist you. Even in instances where a warranty repair is necessary, your dentist will need to speak to a Valplast representative to find out how we can help to repair or replace the partial. *Please note that our company does not manufacture artificial teeth or custom made Valplast appliances, which are fabricated in a dental laboratory. This warranty only covers breakage and fracture of the Valplast® resin, and not artificial teeth.

Will other denture cleaners work with Valplast?

Valplast International Corp. recommends only Val-Clean® Denture Cleanser available at valclean.com. Over the counter cleaners may not clean Valplast® effectively, and may lead to a build-up of materials over time that can adversely affect the appearance of the partial.  Val-Clean® Denture Cleanser are the only two products on the market that are proven to successfully clean Valplast® Flexible Partials.

Can I have a tooth added to my Valplast?

Yes you can have teeth added to your Valplast® partial! Your dentist will have to send the partial to a qualified Valplast® Laboratory to have the tooth or teeth added to it, and you may have to go without your partial for a few days. The partial will come back to you looking brand new, with the new addition hardly visible! Please have your dentist contact us if they need to find a Valplast® laboratory that is capable of providing this service. Note that even when a tooth addition or modification of an existing partial is possible, your dentist may recommend a replacement to your partial anyway. After some time, a partial may not fit or function as well as expected due to gradual changes in your mouth over time. If your dentist feels that you are due for a replacement, she or he may recommend that instead of modifying or adding to your existing partial. Speak to your dentist about which procedure will be suitable for you.

Is Valplast suitable for people with allergies to common dental materials?

Patients that suffer allergic reactions to common dental materials have been using Valplast® restorations for more than fifty years with excellent results. Valplast® is a thermoplastic nylon material which contains no acrylic monomer and a completely metal free coloring agent, making it an excellent choice for patients who suffer allergic reactions to acrylic and metal dental materials. No cadmium or harmful metals are used in Valplast® flexible dental resin. Please have your dentist or allergist contact us if you would like us to send them a sample chip of Valplast® resin for testing.

Can Valplast be used for full dentures?

In most situations Valplast is reserved only for partial dentures. Full dentures do require some degree of rigidity in order to stay in place in the mouth and the flexibility of Valplast may not be suitable for the application of a full denture. However, there are some situations where Valplast may be well suited to a full denture application, including patients whom are allergic to denture acrylics, patients that are prone to breaking their acrylic dentures, patients whom can not wear a rigid full denture due to the shape of their mouth, or patients who have dental implants for the purpose of retaining a complete denture. Speak to your dentist about the possibility of wearing a full denture if you have had difficulty wearing a rigid acrylic denture in the past.

How can I register my Valplast appliance?

Valplast appliances that were prescribed after October 1st, 2009 should come with a Valplast Certificate of Authenticity. This certificate contains a unique 25 digit serial number that can be used to register your denture online or by calling (800) 843-2861. Valplast appliances that were prescribed prior to October 2009 do not require registration with us. If you already have a Valplast® Flexible Partial, please click here to register now and activate your lifetime warranty! If your partial denture was delivered to you without the Certificate, please ask your dentist to confirm that Valplast® resin was used in your partial.
